Greenie, Great Billed parrot: Greenie was rescued from a pet shop situation by a lovely family who ultimately felt they were not equipped to give her the care and rehab she required. We are working carefully with her to manage her stress and feather destructive behavior as well as some reproductive health issues.
 Sequoia,Greenwing macaw: Sequoia is one of our resident ambassador parrots. He loves to show people how pretty his wings are in exchange for a nut!

Nugget and Luna are a bonded pair of Parrotlets. Nugget's age is unknown and as you can see, he is a plucker. He can't fly and when he flaps his wings they sometimes bleed. Luna is a 1 year old and they are looking for a home together. They are not tame but very deserving of love and patience. Trust can be built over time. They are located in Cottam. Nugget will need a vet visit to ensure he is ok to place with other birds and to rule out any medical issues for plucking. Parrot Adoptions Ontario can assist with the vet cost.
Ollie (male age 1) and Peachy (female age 1) are a brother and sister duo of Lovebirds looking for a new home. They are located in Toronto. They are both flighted and are looking for a home that will allow lots of out of cage time to fly around and play. They are bonded so need to be placed together but as they are brother and sister, must not be allowed to breed. They are tame and will come to you to hang out on your head or shoulders. Like most birds, they are a little wary of new things and situations so will need time to acclimate to their new home. Their bird cage and stand, along with some toys, perches, and food bowls are included with their adoption - see image below:   Located in Arthur. Chloe is a 7 year old Black Cap Conure, Cosmo is a 4 year old Green Cheek Conure. Cosmo and Chloe are bonded so have to go together to their new home. These two sweeties love attention but just not hands. Unless you have a thick sleeve. They are looking for an experienced home and are good with others as long as they have separate/supervised out of cage time. Because Chloe can bite hard, a home with children is not ideal and they don't have any experience with cats or dogs. They are very content on just hanging out playing with each other as well. Day 10 of the 12 Adoptable Pets of the Holiday Season - Phantom from the Annex Cat Rescue12/22/2022  Phantom was a lifelong colony cat who has now settled comfortably into indoor life, and is looking for a quiet and understanding retirement home with a loving boyfriend. She spent her first 10 years living in an outdoor colony and was already a senior when she and her 5 senior colony mates were taken in by ACR. An elderly woman had lovingly cared for the 6 cats for a decade, but when she passed away no other resident of her building was willing to pick up the torch, and the apartment landlord only allowed external feeders access to the property for 2 more weeks. It was December, so the entire colony came into ACR's care on an emergency basis. Phantom was nervous when she arrived, as expected for a cat that had never been indoors. Once she found her way under the couch in her foster home, she settled in there for the long haul. Over the following year though, she slowly blossomed, and while she still darts away if her foster parents walk toward her (a common former-feral behaviour that will probably never change), if they approach her quietly and calmly when she's lying down, she rolls over for belly rubs and soaks up the love. When they sit on the floor and offer treats, she will slowly approach. Phantom has incredibly thick fur that comes out in clumps and mats into little spikes all over her body, and a few times a year she patiently lets her foster mom comb all the extra fur off her body, which seems like enough to make a whole new cat with. Her adopter will need to continue frequent full-body brushings, or she will become hopelessly matted (she needed to be shaved down when she arrived). Phantom's big personality has shone through as she's made herself at home inside. When she finds toys, she loudly wails at them, telling the whole house what she's doing. She's a very confident cat (at least around other cats!), and as a result, once she gets comfortable in her home, she will chase and bully nervous and skittish cats, both male and female - so she shouldn't be adopted into a home with shy and unconfident cats, for their sake! Phantom DOES need another cat though - a boyfriend! Her forever home needs to have a friendly, outgoing and confident male cat that will let her follow him around and cuddle up with him. Phantom is absolutely infatuated with one of the friendly and outgoing resident cats in her foster home - if he's sitting somewhere it's not long before she is trying to get her body as close to him as possible. It's unfortunately a pretty one-sided love affair, and he tolerates her attention but doesn't love her back...so Phantom's dream home would have a boyfriend cat that likes other cats and will return her affections. As a cat that lived the first decade of her life outside without medical care or vaccines, Phantom has chronic herpesvirus (a cold-like respiratory illness that almost all cats are exposed to at some point in their lives, but that the FVRCP vaccine protects against, and so most cats fight off relatively quickly and easily). She will have chronic congestion, eye discharge, and coughing fits for the rest of her life, which can sound alarming but don't really bother her. Taking l-lysine powder in her wet food twice a day helps to minimize her symptoms, but she may occasionally need a course of eye medication or antiviral pills again if her symptoms get severe. She has had most of her teeth removed due to dental disease, and as a senior, Phantom should eat a high-quality senior or early renal diet, to slow the eventual progression of kidney disease. Phantom needs a quiet family that understands the body language necessary to help a formerly feral cat feel at ease - she needs to be approached with quiet and slow movements, and handled with gentle techniques - in return, you will see her beautiful personality emerge, as she becomes a confident, happy, cuddly and playful girl. She sleeps on her foster parents' bed every night, snuggling with her boyfriend. If you want to give a cat that had a long and difficult outdoor life a gentle retirement home, and you have a cuddly and confident boy cat that would love a devoted girlfriend, Phantom is the perfect girl for you.  Coal and Eli Hops are a bonded pair! This adorable brother-sister duo are ready to hop into your forever home for the holiday season! Born into our care last December as a part of a litter of 9, these two siblings are still waiting to find their forever home! While these two may look near identical, their personalities make each of them unique! Coal, is the more outgoing of the two and Eli Hops prefers to warm up with time. They are both extremely curious and enjoy human company. Young rabbits such as Coal and Eli Hops love to play, investigate new toys and discover hiding spots. They would do well with humans who can provide them with a healthy outlet for their sense of adventure! Please note, most rabbits enjoy a free-roaming lifestyle in a bunny-proofed home.  FRECKLES Female American Bulldog X 3-5 years of age Aprox 60lbs Spayed and up to date on vaccinations Affectionate / silly/ dog friendly/ loves children/ snuggle bug Medium energy level House trained Freckles is a fun loving mama ready to take on her new adventure! She is very food motivated, eager to learn, and overall a total snuggle bug. She loves to play and explore however she definitely loves to end her day snuggled up to her people. Freckles bonds very quickly to new people and wants everybody to be her new friend. She is wonderful around children and really has a good grasp of understanding special awareness around the littles! She is very gentle and respectful. With dogs, she is definitely very excited at first- wanting to go right into some play but she is learning to have a more relaxed approach when meeting new dogs. She has done well with both small dogs and ones her own size. Freckles is picking up her training very quickly and learning new things everyday! Freckles would be best suited in a family home with a yard. She would be great in a busier family where there are several people to give her all the love she deserves. The kids sneaking her extra snacks is something she absolutely would not complain about! Freckles can be in a home with a balanced resident dog or as an only dog. A family that will take her out on adventures, continue to teach her new things but also ready to snuggle up in bed together after a long day.

He has started to enjoy pets and brushing, and can be very silly, lying on his back with his feet in the air while playing with his toys. He is still very shy and nervous, but has started embracing gentle pets on his cheeks and back. Monty can be very silly, lying on his back with his feet in the air playing with his toys. He requires a patient and gentle adopter who is willing to spend time sitting with him, giving him treats, and letting him sniff their hand. His foster parents spend a lot of time talking to him in a gentle voice, this has really helped his confidence. Monty spends most of his day grooming his bonded buddy Molloy. He LOVES temptation treats and will almost eat them out of our hands. Monty and Molloy grew up together in the same colony; they spend all their time together, sleeping, grooming, and wrestling with each other. They are a bonded pair and need to be adopted together! They will require a patient adopter who has experience with street cats, who understands that it will take some time to open up. They need someone who has space in their home to give them a quiet place to adjust to a new environment, it can take a little while for street cats to open up and feel safe. These boys also require an adopter who has experience getting street cats into a cat carrier, as they do not enjoy being picked up. Molloy is very playful and silly. He loves being brushed as well as pets and chin scratches. He spends most of his day trying to get Monty to groom him and lick his head. He adorably lays on his back with his feet in the air waiting for Monty to come over and groom him. When his fosters first got Molloy he was very shy. Then he realized that they have treats and food and he embraced attention and pets. When it's dinner time he squeals in excitement or runs around our legs waiting for food :) Molloy needs a patient adopter who is willing to spend time with him, and who will give him LOTS of love and attention! He loves pets, and likes to rub up against his foster parents so they keep petting him. He does have a nervous side and will give you a gentle swat (no claws) as a warning.
