Dutchie is a sweet and beautiful girl who is waiting for her forever family to find her. After having a few litters of kittens on the street this beautiful girl was caught and brought inside. She was found to be malnourished and her coat was very thin but it has started growing back in and it is so soft! Dutchie was quite friendly outside and has adapted really well to inside life. She is shy but she doesn't hide and she actively seeks out affection. She isn't a lap cat but she does enjoy being near people. Dutchie likes other cats and gets along with them well but she doesn't seek out their attention so Dutchie would do well with another friendly cat or on her own with a family that has lots of time for her. She would likely do well in a home with a friendly dog, she does not seem very concerned about the large dog in her foster home. Dutchie loves to lay on things, if you drop anything on the floor Dutchie will find it and have a nap on it. Her favourite bed is a towel on the floor - that's pretty low maintenance for such a Royal cat! Find out More about Dutchie on her Annex Cat Rescue Page

Alice is a very friendly and lovable cat. Alice was on the street for the first year of her life, and has spent the last few months caring for her kittens in a foster home. Alice can be shy and standoffish at first. When Alice gets to know you, you will quickly see how lovable she is. She loves head scratches, chin rubs, and will often place her head in her foster mom's hand in order to get some extra attention. She also absolutely loves to play with cat teasers, and she loves rolling around on the carpet when her foster parents sit with her. Alice needs a patient owner as she takes time to get used to a new environment. With a little bit of time, Alice will make a fantastic furry friend. Visit Alice's Page on the Annex Cat Rescue site!

Remember when I went live a few weeks back and talked about pets with anxiety, or pets that you may have adopted during one of the lockdowns? How they may be experiencing anxiety—especially separation anxiety—now that restrictions have been lifted and they may be seeing less of you? Or this may not have happened yet, but you anticipate that it may. Well, what are a couple of great ways to help support your pets and help them improve and overcome their anxiety? Reiki—especially distance Reiki, and massage therapy. Ding, ding, ding! Then I went live again to chat about the physical side—the aging kitty with arthritis in her hips, the dog with vertebral disc degeneration, or any pet compensating for an injury in any one of their limbs. Again…what could possibly help these kinds of ailments? You’ve got it—massage therapy (with your veterinarian informed and on board), and Reiki! Some of you and your lovely fur babies may have been massage therapy clients before the pandemic, with your babies seeing me for anxiety issues or physical issues. Some of you may have been considering massage therapy for your pets individual ailments…then suddenly the pandemic hits. There’s a lockdown (or two, or three), and you and your pets are suddenly stuck inside. Mobile massage is not an option. Well, the good news is I am now available again and able to schedule appointments to see your pets! And boy, do they ever need it…they’ve been waiting for so long to get treatment for their joint issues, or muscle tension, stiffness due to lack of circulation, separation anxiety—what have you. Let’s get these guys on track (or back on track) to better health and wellness! Honestly, they’re probably not totally okay right now, so don’t hesitate to get them the help they likely need! So, if you’re in the Toronto area and you're thinking massage could help your fur baby, you’re probably right, so get in touch! And if you live anywhere on this planet and you’re thinking Reiki is the way to go, I’m here for you, too. Distance Reiki has got to be one of the least invasive yet effective holistic therapies around. Keep in mind that discounted massage therapy packages are available for new clients, as well as current clients. New client packages typically include an initial consultation and first massage, followed by three more massage appointments. Current clients can arrange packages of three or more sessions at a time.
For Distance Reiki, I’m available to jump on a Zoom call with you, so you get an introduction to me and go over the procedure (prior to booking your pet’s session) You can email me through my contact form—my phone number is there, too, if you prefer. Or you can email me right now at [email protected]. Carla is a shy, but sweet kitty looking for someone patient to love! She takes a while to warm up to you, but once she does it's the greatest feeling ever. Carla is a huge fan of pats behind the ear and will run towards the sound of a box of treats. She loves early morning and late night cuddles, and loves hiding under blankets. Carla is a chatty girl and loves to talk! She loves playing with ball-like objects and can be heard playing with her toys in the night when she isn't sleeping by her foster's feet or shoulder. Carla is litter box trained and has never had an accident, does not claw or bite, and sheds a minimal amount. Carla has mild mitral valve dysplasia. She does not require any medication at this time, but will need annual cardiac ultrasounds. She may eventually need treatment, but is currently asymptomatic. Carla will need time and space to adjust to her new environment and you should wait for her to come to you. She can be a bit skittish around loud noises. She will need a patient adopter who will let her come out of her shell on her own time. She would match well with someone older in age, who would be at home a lot, and who does not have other pets. Check out the rest of Carla's info on the ACR Site!
