Mr. Squeakers truly lives up to his name. Once he's come out of his shell, he is one talkative and chatty kitty! He is skittish around new people and sudden movements, but once he's become attached to you, he will never leave your side. He will occasionally go on your lap but prefers to sit on the couch or bed beside you. And if you walk to the kitchen or upstairs, most likely he will follow you and ask for more attention. He will happily accept some ear scratches at any time. He doesn't show his age and loves to play with string toys. If you have a window open, he will definitely find a way to sit and watch the world go by. He especially loves watching the neighbourhood kitty. Mr. Squeakers would definitely love a friend if slowly introduced to them. After his last home, he deals with some anxiety, especially about being left alone. If you close a door without letting him in, he will meow and paw at the door until you let him in. The same goes if you leave the house, but other than that his chirps and chatter are adorable and he is very mellow. He has perfect litterbox habits but does need natural corn litter instead of clay (vet recommended) because it hurts his paws. He loves his wet food, but sometimes he will eat his dry kibble too fast and throw up. He used to have problems with hairballs, but with occasional hairball control Greenies and daily brush sessions, he has had no problems! Mr. Squeakers will make a wonderful and loyal best friend. Meet Misty!! Misty can be timid with people but has made a lot of progress this year. She's gone from hiding under the bed all the time to hanging out on the window sill looking outside or sitting in a chair watching her fosterer over the edge of the table like a little cat dinner guest. She's letting people get closer and closer and is learning to accept and even sometimes seems to enjoy being petted. She also loves following her foster dad around while he does chores, chatting away with meows! She's really cute, her fur is super dense and soft, and if you can be patient with her maybe you can draw her out more! In fact, Misty will now eat her dinner out of anyone's hand when it's dinnertime, even a stranger! In fact, while she's not about to get in a stranger's lap, she'll perch on a chair or wander the apartment while guests are over, and quiet, patient guests have a pretty good shot at petting her :) Last winter she was diagnosed with feline leukemia and heart disease and got all her teeth removed. She doesn't currently need any day to day health care though, the heart disease hasn't progressed, and she eats both wet and dry food happily (though a bit messily :)). Mostly her toothlessness just makes her extra cute because her tongue sticks out sometimes. Her litter box manners are perfect and she doesn't scratch much besides her scratching post and pad. Misty would prefer to be the only cat in the home and has not been tested with dogs. Sweetie is true to his name, a real sweet guy with the most soft, thick fur. Blessed with a gentle, high meow he will be happy to let you know when it's time to eat. While still a bit shy, he is very comfortable in his foster home. Having discovered the joys of scratching posts and cat nip, Sweetie spends most of his time lounging on his post, but will bust out the kitten-ish highjinks when a cat nip toy is tossed his way. He will hiss occasionally but it's just to let you know he's here. Sweetie has tested positive for Feline Leukaemia but his health is currently excellent, having had much needed dental work very recently. Sweetie is a charming fellow who will make someone very happy! Check out this video I did of Sweetie with his foster mom over the holiday season: Animal ID 40315480

Time for my next interview and guest blog post and interview for Kuri K9 Massage -- this time my guest is Priya Rao, Animal-lover, Social Herbivore, Vegan Wine Pairer and more! ABOUT PRIYA: A foodie and wine lover, I switched to a vegetarian diet in 1995 and then to a vegan one in 2011. An entertainer since childhood, I’ve had a lot of time to think about how to translate my love of hosting and cooking for people from meat and potatoes to vino and veggies. I had previously hosted vegan food and wine events in Toronto as part of the duo A Vine Romance, appearing on Breakfast Television in Toronto, as guest wine experts on 640AM and Rogers Daytime, and writing articles for Prince Edward County’s Grapevine Magazine, Restaurants Canada and NatalieMaclean.com. I also created and co-hosted the tv show, THE DRINK, for Bell FIBE TV1. In 2018, I founded WhatPriyaSaid.com to promote vegan athletes, fashionistas and businesses and showcase the various aspects of living a fabulous plant-powered life! I’ve since spoken and shared my knowledge of vegan food and wine pairings at Toronto’s Veg Fest (the largest vegetarian food festival in North America!) and at other local vegetarian events and conferences, and served as MC for several vegan events around the city. Keeping life multifaceted, I also serve as the Eastern Director for First Weekend Club — a national organization that promotes Canadian film. In this role, I have the honour of being the lead on-camera host for interviews with incredible Canadian talent. These days I’m most often found with a glass of wine in hand entertaining guests at my vegan retreat home, Terra, in Ontario wine country.
