I just received this urgent email from THS:
"Our animals urgently need the new roof over their heads...before winter. We just received really bad news... our 30,000 square foot shelter roof has reached a state of disrepair and needs to be replaced, now! Patching or repairing simply aren’t options because of the extensive wear and tear. We’ve also been told that our old roof won’t make it through another winter - the shelter’s 35-year-old roof has been leaking, quite badly, for some time now. We care for and house hundreds of animals every month, and need to ensure we have a warm, safe home for them to stay in while they receive medical care, and wait for their forever homes. Having a solid leak-proof roof is a necessity and part of maintaining a great shelter for the animals. We need $400,000 to replace our roof, and we need to start working on the roof immediately before the snow starts flying. We don’t receive any government funding and we rely solely on donations... Thank you so much, Dr. Jacques Messier, DVM, MBA Chief Executive Officer P.S. We must fix our roof before winter. I hope you can find it in your heart to lend us a hand with your donation today." They will be at the Stockyards PetSmart store on September 13th and 14th, located at 75 Gunns Road (Keele and St. Clair). |
