From the Toronto Humane Society "Scratching Post": If you’re looking for a fun-filled evening, where you can learn a bit about what a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) is, what they do and the experiences they encounter you should head on down to the Al Green Theatre and check out ‘Adventures of a SuperVet Tech’ as a part of the Toronto Fringe Festival! With a background in both RVT work and acting, Sandra Lean Leighton has combined her two passions and created a comedy to help educate people about what RVT’s do! Sandra says that RVT’s work is “Funny, heartwarming, bizarre, and at times tragic”. Meet Regan Macaulay Our new Resident Certified Canine Massage Therapist! Regan began working with animals a number of years ago. She has worked in a variety of different positions in the animal care industry from Animal Wrangler to Vet Assistant. In 2011, Regan made the big decision to further her studies in animal healing where she began with the Treetops Canine Massage Therapy Program. The program included an Animal Anatomy and Physiology course and hands-on massage sessions. After the completion of 44 case study massages and two written exams, she was certified to practice canine massage on October 1st, 2012. She continued with Treetops and e-Training for dogs, taking a course in Herbal Remedies and Aromatherapy, Pet First Aid and CPR, and the All-Fit Dog Course where she learned how to improve fitness and overall wellness in dogs.
