Day 5 of the 12 Adoptable Pets of the Holiday Season - Hans Moleman from Annex Cat Rescue12/17/2022 Hans Moleman loves head pets and snuggling with his foster mom. He would do well in a home with another resident cat. He is very docile and likes to socialize and play with his foster brothers. He requires a patient adopter, who understands it may take a few months for him to feel safe with a new human. When we first got him, he was frozen in fear, hiding in his safe space. He now spends most of his time sleeping in the desk chair or looking out the window. Hans can be easily frightened by loud sounds and will likely run away to hide until it is quiet. He has perfect litter box habits and loves being brushed. He does not enjoy being picked up and requires someone with experience getting a shy cat into a cat carrier. Hans is a real sweetie looking for a quiet loving adopter! For cute videos check out his Instagram: mister_hans_moleman Find our more about Hans Moleman from the ACR website

Goldie is an energizer bunny-dog with a pep in her step and a need for all things FUN! Running after a ball, walking in the woods, sniffing trails or gnawing on sticks, this shepherd mix thinks of herself as a serious athlete, no kidding. Her favourite sport? Swimming! Goldie just loves to swim, and she'll go all day long if you let her. She spends her days swimming and running, then playing ball, and then, if she could, she'd ask to get one last dip in before bed. Goldie is your ultimate fitness buddy! This gal has endless curiosity and will entertain you endlessly. But don't get the idea that Goldie never winds down: she totally savours the more relaxed side of life: snoozing with her foster dad on the couch, stretched out on the floor with her head resting on her foster mom's foot, and soaking up all the sun (she loves to sun-soak!), love and affection she can get. Goldie was unsure of strangers and other dogs when she came to her foster home, but she has made huge breakthroughs in learning to trust. Every new person who comes to the house is now a bestie and she's gotten friendly with folks she encounters on her walks. She used to holler at dogs non-stop, but this has changed too. She might bark a bit but will stop if asked and a lot of time she doesn't even react. Such a transformation and all because she was given time and opportunities to learn that there was another, happier way to be. This trust and training will be an important support for Goldie as she transitions into her forever home. She'd be best in a family with adults and teens who love activity and adventure as much as she does. Busy neighbourhoods push her buttons so she's looking for a house with a large fenced yard in a suburb or beyond. Most of all, this wonderful dog wants to spend her days with people who understand where she's been and where she's going in her journey to becoming pure Goldie. Day 2 of the 12 Adoptable Pets of the Holiday Season - Debbie Harry from Annex Cat Rescue12/14/2022 Debbie is a shy and quiet cat. She came from a colony and initially avoided all contact with humans, only wanting to stay hidden. She would creep out only at night when the house was quiet. It took a long time, but she has gradually become more and more comfortable with people, and is developing into a friendly and affectionate cat. She especially likes to be brushed, and will purr loudly and rub her head against you while she is being groomed. Although she is still shy and easily startled, she continues to improve every week, and is showing signs of affection, and enjoying human company. Debbie has FIV but is not symptomatic and is healthy. Cats with FIV can live a long and happy life. You can read more about FIV on our website here: https://annexcatrescue.ca/educate/adopting-cat-fiv/. Debbie would do best in a home without other pets or young children. She needs a patient adopter who is willing to put in the effort to help her come out of her shell and who is familiar with cat body language. When Debbie is scared or overstimulated she may still nip or swat. Although this may take some time, they will be rewarded with a wonderful and affectionate companion. Day 1 of the 12 Adoptable Pets of the Holiday Season - Q from the Toronto Humane Society!12/13/2022 Q is looking for her forever home for the holidays! Q is a social lady who is ready for her forever home! This beautiful tuxedo is a diabetic who will need daily insulin injections - not to worry though, our medical team will talk you through everything. Since she has been with us Q has been (understandably) a little apprehensive of her new environment, but she absolutely adores company! Q is an incredibly sweet cat. She's not always super interested in playing but will come to you if she wants pets! She is very happy to just share some space with you and is great at communicating when she wants attention or some space. So far, all of the volunteers who have spent time with Q love her! Her ideal forever home would be able to provide her with a lot of attention and affection and spoil her like the sweet princess she is. Find out more about Q on the THS Website
