Greenie, Great Billed parrot:

Greenie was rescued from a pet shop situation by a lovely family who ultimately felt they were not equipped to give her the care and rehab she required. We are working carefully with her to manage her stress and feather destructive behavior as well as some reproductive health issues.

Bailey, African grey parrot:

Bailey was the beloved pet of a young woman who tragically passed away. His family surrendered him to the Parrot Sanctuary as they could not care for him and have asked that he remain with us in honor of her memory.

Merlin, mollucan cockatoo:

Merlin came to the parrot sanctuary when her family began to experience some hardships and could no longer care for her. We are working with her to manage her feather pulling and a self inflicted wound to her chest. She requires ongoing medical attention

Picture
Quincy, African grey parrot:

Quincy came to the parrot sanctuary when her family began experiencing extreme personal hardship. She was a beloved companion. Due to the stress she experienced during that time Quincy became feather destructive, and we are working with her to manage her anxiety and help her learn to let her feathers grow in. Quincy loves to tell our staff “good job” when they are cleaning!

Freddie, Yellow-naped Amazon:

Freddie came to live at the parrot sanctuary when her loving family became to elderly to care for her. She is 45 years young and loves to laugh at our staff and sing opera

Picture
Olive and Tim, Patagonian conure and Senegal parrot:

Olive is an almost 40 year old conure who is losing her eyesight. She has had many homes in her long life and has found a forever place at the Parrot Sanctuary. Tim, her companion, helps her to navigate her cage and find her way around.

Picture
Bonnie, African grey parrot:

Bonnie loves to shred paper and any toys that are the color orange! Bonnie plucks her chest feathers when she gets stressed or with changes in her environment. We are working with her to learn other ways of coping with any stress.

Picture
Sophia and Jewel blue head pionus:

Jewel is an elderly bird who we believe was wild caught many years ago. She was used for breeding for most of her life. When she no longer produced eggs the Breeder wanted to give her away. She has found a forever home at the parrot sanctuary, and Sophia and Jewel bonded very quickly and will not be separated.

Picture
Plato, African grey parrot:

Plato is one of the parrot sanctuary ambassador parrots that helps to do community outreach to teach people about parrot care and conservation. He does a perfect imitation of a washing machine!

Picture
Bowie, Miligold macaw:

Bowie was rescued from a home where he spent the first years of his life alone in a room with nothing to do or see. He is slowly learning about new healthy foods and how to play with toys.
