Meet Honeybee from the Annex Cat Rescue! Honeybee is a cuddly and playful three-year-old former colony cat. His foster parents have watched him grow from a scared kitty who would not leave his cat carrier to a friendly guy who enjoys belly rubs and sleeping slumped up against you. He loves chasing a laser, eating fresh catnip, and scratching up scratching posts and cardboard toys. He is not much of a talker but he will let you know if he needs something. Honeybee finds excessive noise and movement to be frightening and would probably fare best in an environment with older children and adults. Honeybee would be fine as a solely cat and would likely fare well with another timid cat, but he has had a negative experience with a friendly extroverted/socially dominant cat. His litter habits are relatively neat, but he is spooked by closed-door litters and will not use them; an open litter tray may be necessary at first as he gets acclimatized to a new space. He has a deceptively thick coat and needs to be brushed often so as to prevent excessive shedding and hairballs. He sometimes eats food a bit too quickly, so he benefits from an enrichment/food toy which prevents him from gobbling it down too fast.
