From the Toronto Humane Society's email: Esteban is a four year old Golden Retriever who was rescued from a remote First Nation community in northern Quebec.
We found signs of an old injury to his left hind leg during his intake exam. X-rays showed that he had sustained a fractured pelvis which had caused further fractures in his left hind leg and hip. We sent his x-rays to be reviewed by specialists at the Toronto Veterinary Emergency Hospital, who advised that due to the complexity of his injury, Estaban will need a THR – a total hip replacement! The surgery will take place at the hospital and a specialist is flying in from the US to assist with Estaban's surgery! This surgery is essential to give Estaban the comfort and mobility he deserves as a young dog in his prime. The hospital is greatly reducing the cost of Estaban's surgery for which we are very grateful, but we still need to pay approximately $4,800. Any donation you can give will help us cover the cost of the surgery and any donations received above the target of $4,800 will help with Estaban's after care costs and will also help other animals who require medical help at the Toronto Humane Society. Donate Now. From all of us and Estaban, thank you for your support!
